College Admissions a Scam?!?!?!?!1!!
Like, zoinks, check out this latest op-ed by Neal Gabler in the Boston Globe, who resoundly Howard Zinns his way to the conclusion that college admissions are a tool to benefit the rich and disparage the poor.
He goes on to talk about how college admissions officers will tell you otherwise, but there wrong! He says, "as one Yale admissions officer put it, 'It matters far less which strong college admits you than it matters what you do with your opportunities once you are there.' To which most high school seniors would say, 'Hogwash.'"
Well, they might say "hogwash" if it were, you know, 1952. As such our lexicon has moved on to far more descriptive porclamations like, "baloney!", "horse-feathers!", or "fuck that noise!"
Either way, I love the smell of fomented class warfare in the morning, though Mr. Gabler does have a point. Either way I think you should probably immdiately stop whatever college application you're currently work on and go play Mario Kart Wii because you're probably too rich, too poor, or too "middle class" to go to college.
Also, take heart, because while Gabler correctly lists the SAT as a primary tool of the oppressors, the BSAT is created to the benefit of no one and only comes at the disparagement of good taste.
