Dartmouth Interview Prank
I'm a very creative, assertive and confident kind of person. So for my interview at Dartmouth I did some brainstorming. Well, I came up with the perfect idea that would make them remember me for a long time. Lucky for me, my family is just like me. In fact, sometimes as a group we're maybe even a little "over the top". They were psyched.
We got there slightly early. When the interviewer, Mr. Adams, called out my name, we all piled into his office FAST, like the Marx brothers. My Dad was holding the camera. My little brother Max carried the boom mike. Mom held the light tree and little Amy carried the PowerPak.
I went right up to Adams, shoved a mike in his face and asked, "What do you like about your job interviewing kids for Dartmouth?"
I saw this look flicker across his face, like he was deciding whether to call Security or go with the flow. Then he sort of half grinned and said, "Well, it's a living. And I get to meet unusual kids, some of whom are fairly nuts. Like you."
He was going with it! I was interviewing Adams and it was working! I asked him 5 or 6 more questions. After about 5 minutes he said, "OK, my turn to interview you." My gang went to break down the rig but Adams tells them, "No, keep rolling. Let's get the whole event."
Dad and I spent all night editing it down, added the funny titles and all, and by 2pm the next day it was up on Youtube. I emailed Mr. Adams a thank-you, good sport and all that, and I gave him the link.
Now all I have to do is wait for that thick envelope. I'm pretty confident.
